Yoruba people are of African ethnic group that inhabits most West African countries. The Yoruba constitute over 150 million people in population. The majority of the population is from Western Nigeria, making them one the largest ethnic groups in Africa. Most Yoruba people speak Yoruba language.
The Yorubas in the diaspora consists of two main groupings; one of them includes relatively recent migrants, the majority of which moved to the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, Australia and most European countries. The other dates to the Atlantic slave trade and have communities in Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Columbia, Venezuela, Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Brazil, Grenada, Trinidad and Tobago, and many other Latin American countries.
